Wellcome Frank !
Finally we can read somebody, who knows something about the subject... :-))) A little precision about polish gliders life time policy: All SZD-gliders had at the beginning 1200 or 1500 hours service life time. It doesn't mean a lot, because today the Junior (SZD-51-1) has 10 000 hours life time and the Puchacz (SZD-50-3) is in the way of getting an certified 12 000 hours life time. Taking that into consideration, there are no fears to have about the durability of Diana-2. With all experience accumulated by former SZD engineers and workers (the 5000-th glider of the SZD brand was sold to a German customer last November) every glider pilot can be confident. Diana-1 is flying allready for 14 years, with no problem. On its board were broken 19 world records, from which 6 are still not superseded. :-))) By the way : it would be nice, if opinions - critical or not - in this thread would be expressed with a little bit more of respect for other participants... |
