![]() Apropos the previous week's discussion, some of you may know that Overstock.com ad, the all-white one with the woman purring, "it's all about the O..." Well, she's one of us: http://slate.msn.com/id/2114128/nav/ais/ Money graf: "The lovely Sabine Ehrenfeld (pronounced "Sa-BEAN-uh") was driving back from a snowboarding trip with her children, on her way to casting calls the following day. Still, she found time to chat in a delightful and disarming manner. I learned the following: In addition to German and English, Sabine speaks French and Italian. She is proficient in basic tactical pistol skills, because she thought it would be a fun thing to learn. She also has a private pilot's license and 350 hours in the air. After reading the Richard Bach book Biplane, she was inspired to fly solo-in an old-style, aerobatic tailwheel plane-from California to Montana. With camping gear in the back so she could land along the route to sleep and refuel. I am not making this up." Best, -cwk. |

Well, she's one of us:
http://slate.msn.com/id/2114128/nav/ais/ Wow. I've certainly never run into anyone like Sabine whilst airplane camping... (Although every now and then we'll see an obvious "trophy wife" at the showers in OSH... You know -- the ones with a portable beauty salon spread out on the little wooden shelf, 2-inch nails, and delicate little high-heeled sandals. Mary just laughs when she sees these preening peahens, knowing that in 48 hours they won't be able to walk ten steps...) ;-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Every year we go, our group selects an Oshkosh Grand Champion Trophy Wife. Candidates are judged on: Overall knockout factor. Size of engagement diamond. Size of breast augmentation. Estimated annual maintenance cost. Extra points are awarded if the candidate is actually carrying a copy of her pre-nuptial agreement. -- Dan C172RG at BFM |

hmm... maybe it's all about the O(SH)? Good one Jimb'o' Pinging The Wizard of Draws for a Million Dollar Idea! Time to give those red 'Remove Before Flight' tops a run for their money, as the best shirts at OSH. I do however like my 'Oshkosh Survivor' shirt - white, not the tie-dye one. I bought it mostly because it had 2004 on it. Note to shirt makers: I do not look at "anything" at OSH that doesn't have the year on it. In 2003 I bought some shirts from the Ruskies at Sherpa Planes. Shirt had Oshkosh 2003 on it and was only $5 ...out of the back of an 8 place white plane with huge tundra tires. Montblack |

Montblack I appreciate that you thought of me, but shirts are no longer offered by the Wiz. The shop I was using was bought out and the new company will not produce short runs. I could do Café Press, but the quality wouldn't be the same and I'm not willing to sacrifice that. Additionally, the cost to make it worth my time would make the shirts much too expensive. Maybe if another silk screen shop out there is willing to do short runs with good quality at a reasonable price... -- Jeff 'The Wizard of Draws' Bucchino Cartoons with a Touch of Magic http://www.wizardofdraws.com More Cartoons with a Touch of Magic http://www.cartoonclipart.com |

It's all about the O(SH) I think Jim's line is a winner. Think I'll make me up a shirt for OSH. Maybe no artwork, just lettering from the Mall t-shirt store. Montblack |

2 It's all about the 0 (SH) 0 5 Wow -- that's great! (And it almost looks like an airplane. If you could silhouette an aircraft behind the words, you'd have a best-seller!) Wiz? You *sure* you don't want to sell these at OSH? -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
