Default How not to get your post read

I don't know if others follow the same rules as I do, (they probably
don't), BUT the following subject lines are guaranteed to get me to
dump a post without ever reading it.

Important!

Ping
Make money (Most of us already know that to make a small fortune in
aviation you start out with a large one.)
Long Subject lines
Religious, or political statements

I know I've missed a great many, but this is a start.

Hi Roger,

I would add:

I need help!!!!
and
I have a question!!!!

The reason these torque me is that I don't know if the topic is something I
know about and/or care about. You HAVE to read it to see. Just a LITTLE
hint in the subject would be nice.

I'm probably being too ornery about it, and miss learning something or
possibly being in a position to give an answer. But there are so many
posts...

Just got back from a mini-vacation down to Iowa City - would highly
recommend visiting Jay and Mary's Alexis Park Inn if you're in the region.
Very nice visit. We stayed in the Stearman Suite - FUN!

Anyway... (approx) 1,300 posts were waiting for me tonight (Sunday night May
8th) upon our return to Minnesota - since late Wednesday night, May 4th, at
around 11pm. We headed down to Iowa early-early Thursday morning.

rec.aviation.homebuilt (150)
rec.aviation.owning (300)
rec.aviation.piloting (700)
rec.aviation.student (150)

I'll read what I can, and chuck the rest ...sorry posters.

I only read the ones that appear to be aof direct interest to me which
is a very small percent. The rest go to the great bit bucket in the
sky. :-))

Glad you had a good vacation. Joyce and I gotta make it out there to
that great aviation hotel.
