Default Duty calls

My buddy Lamar's engineering firm has landed a contract in Canada and
he'll be gone for months. As a result, his Mooney M20F will just sit
over there at MOB unless someone else gives it some exercise.

As a dutiful friend, I have selflessly offered to take time from my busy
schedule to make sure Lamar's airplane doesn't rot in the hangar while
he's gone. I know, I know, you're saying, "Dan, you're letting Lamar
take advantage of your friendship. He ought to PAY you to fly his
airplane for him! Just paying for the gas and insurance isn't enough!"
But, no, this is a sacrifice I'm willing to make for friendship - that's
just the kind of guy I am.

So next week my CFII buddy Brent will check me out in Lamar's bird and
each week thereafter for several months I'll be tooling around in a
Mooney. Of course, my airplane needs to fly every week too, so some of
my residential maintenance duties will have to be indefinitely
postponed. Ah, well, one must prioritize one's important
responsibilities in this hectic world.
