There seems to be a dearth of "what is" and "how to" guides for
avionics. By this I mean some sort of guides for which models of radios can do, how they are wired, interfaces, schematics, are those connectors propierety (sp), etc. This could be really handy for someone buying used radios. Is this radio worth getting, or would something newer work? can this nav/com be interfaced with that VOR? how about that panel GPS? John |

This is about the best you will find for including what you want to talk about (in the public domain for free) I find the site breaks down the different models into what they can do, what they work best with (as in.. which VOR indicator works with which equipment combination - GS, converter, GPS, etc) Wiring... I recommend checking out Bob Knuckols AeroElectric Site. Pinouts of several popular avionics products are there for free http://www.aeroelectric.com/ Installation manuals? Direct from the manufacturer (if still supported) or perhaps on Ebay.. there is an Estate Sale Ebay Store (Gebe's) that seems to have LOTS of manuals.. You can also get them from Eastern Avionics (www.avionix.com) in print or pdf.. for a fee. Im going through all this right now myself.. and am planning to install my own avionics and panel as much as possible.. Ask questions.. check with your local EAA chapter, they may have someone who can provide competent peer support regarding this stuff.
