Is that EAA DVD of OSH 2005 any good?

I don't like the 30+ bucks, but what the heck. Same price + shipping as 16R.

My gal had a good thought. She said we'll get onesixright for us, but we
should get the Oshkosh DVD for friends and family (6 copies) - since I was
actually at Oshkosh and have never even been to California, let alone VNY.

OSH 2005 or 16R for my peeps? I'm leaning toward EAA's OSH 2005 DVD.

Hmm.... I know this guy that I went to OSH last year that took some amazing
pictures. Hundreds of them in fact. I'm pretty sure he even knows how to
use a computer.... may even be able to come up with some great sound
tracks.... and some interesting articles about some of the planes that
visited OSH from his very own airport... some that he may have even helped
restore!

I'd bet that guy could put together a better DVD.

How true.

I'm more about
seeing the displays, the vendors, the North 40, and the people -- and
that just doesn't translate onto video. The producers naturally
concentrate on the "action" stuff, and that, to me, was just boring.

Agreed. This year might be and exception, though. I'll never forget, until
the day I die, see the White knight and Spaceship 1 doing their arrivals and
flyby's.

I don't doubt that. I would be a possible purchaser.

My problem is that I am too wrapped up in trying to see everything at OSH,
and don't concentrate on taking pictures, even though I take hundreds.

This was my first AirVenture, so I bought the DVD.

It was OK, but less than I would have expected. While I enjoyed Rutan's
stuff, I didn't see a need for (my exaggeration here...) 15 minutes of it. I
enjoyed seeing the aerobatic stuff, but, again, didn't need 20 minutes or
more of it.

There was too little "this is the guts of EAA" stuff there. A few quick
flashes of some of the planes, but mostly it was too much time spent on too
few topics.

Of course, everyone has their own "druthers", so trying to satisfy everyone
would be impractical...

We bought the 2004 edition last year, and I must admit that I found it
to be quite dull.

I love the airshow It's the only time of day that you can take a
shower without having to line up.

At the moment, I happen to be working on a "New Members Guide on DVD"
project for my flying club.

Ok, you guys help me get there and I'll produce the video.

I wonder if EAA is hiring?

At least in the Warbird shower, midnight works pretty well, too.

You have to have gone to OSH a couple years before you learn that.
You're not allowed to tell others about it.... Oshkosh Rules!

I went to Oshkosh this year for the first time. WOW! I'm building an
RV-9A and wanted to talk to the guys at Van's Aircraft in person. I
have my own collection of Oshkosh photos at:
http://www.smittysrv.com/photo_album.asp?id=27

There are other Oshkosh pic links on the right margin of the website.
