![]() ANN Conducting Media Workshop At AEA 2006 See Jim. See Jim Speak... At Upcoming AEA Conference As the preeminent online aviation news resource out there, to say the editorial staff at Aero-News sees a large number of press releases -- and notices of new products -- each day would be a profound understatement; we see hundreds each week, ranging from sources such as Boeing's prolific press center on down to the backyard tinkerer, who has come up with something completely new and innovative for the industry. We look at all of them, and can usually tell whether something merits consideration or not within reading the first couple of paragraphs. Often, however, a new and innovative product can be overlooked because of the very words written to promote it, by the very people who created it. Those people should be best able to tell others why it's so new and innovative -- but often, the information is, frankly, uninspiring. This problem isn't limited to those garage tinkerers, either; some of the "biggies" could use a helping hand here, as well. Well, ANN is here to help, with our upcoming workshop at next week's Aircraft Electronics Association Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Titled "Using the Media as an Effective Marketing Tool," this fast-paced workshop will show you the tricks & tips of how marketing professionals establish relationships with the media to promote their company. Aero-News Editor-In-Chief Jim Campbell will conduct the 35-minute workshop, which will show you: 1) How to write press releases that get read by editors 2) How to get media attention 3) The importance of keeping your name in the news 4) How to efficiently and economically promote your company, no matter if you have one employee or 1,000 employees. The workshop will be held Wednesday, April 19, from 7:15 am to 7:50 in the Wyndham Hotel's Ventura Room, immediately before the start of Fast Trak Sessions at AEA. There will be a wealth of information provided at the workshop, so if you have an interesting product you want to see reach a wide aero-audience, be sure to attend. Oh, and one more thing... there will be coffee and donuts, too. |

WOW! Can we all say STAMPEDE! There is sure to be one from the group
of readers here who think that Campbell is all knowing in regards to Aero News. I will get my reservations in immediately and can't wait to hang on his every word. I am sure than in 35 minutes, he will teach us all everything he knows and then have 34 mintues left to tell us how fking great he is as a test pilot, Editor-in-crap, and then describe all 1100 planes he has flown. That will leave another 33 minutes for questions. Gawd, what a ego that fool has. Even free donuts wouldn't make it worth geting up that early. Thanks though, it did give us a good laugh. |

I doubt he's even going to be there. Probably trying to set up anyone
having a bone to pick with him into going, only, he won't be there. You can't teach the items he has listed in 35 minutes. I say it's a ruse. There are enough events out there that he has to cover that we're all going to wind up crossing paths with him. Let the element of surprise be yours! G I hear he has a fear of escalators... Say, didn't someone post something about him not being the same since that house fell on his sister? Seems he was flying it... |
