Default Help with OLC USA.

I just flew my first flight of 2006. Unfortunately
my PDA had a task loaded from last year. The problem
is that the flight is rejected by OLC because I do
not have a 'valid start.'

How can I dissassociate the flight from the task so
that OLC will accept the flight?

Guy

OLC doesn't care about the declared task.

Are you submitting via the web, or using a program such a SeeYou or
StrePla?

On the web, you will just need to provide start and end times for the
soaring portion of your flight. With SeeYou (the program I use), just
be sure the flight properties indicate the correct beginning of
soaring.

Again, the declared task is completely ignored by OLC.

The task in the PDA shouldn't matter. Most likely, the OLC computer
couldn't tell when the soaring part of your flight began. The OLC form
has a place to put the time of the beginning of the soaring flight. Put
the time there, and upload again. If that doesn't work, report back!

My problem is only getting worse. Let me add that
I submitted flights throughout 2005 without any problems.

Another question for the group concerns the takeoff
location. I fly from Minden, Nevada. The only choice
from the drop down menu that seems close is 'Minden
Dougl Gld.' Is this correct?

Now for my problem. I reloaded my flight claim, completed
all the requested entries. I even entered my release
from tow time as my flight start time. OLC still refuses
to accept my flight. This time the error messages
include:
1) valid waypoints reached in the present flight trace
(ICG-file) are printed in green.
2) The flight claim is complete only when all waypoints
are printed in green.
3) Suggestions will be made by the server only if the
flight trace approaches a declared waypoint to no more
than 2.5km.

HELP!

I made another attempt to load my flight by using SeeYou.
I optimized my flight and hit the 'Submit' button.
I completed the form and was able to enter my takeoff
location as Minden, NV by hand (no drop down menu).
(?why does OLC entry form only allow drop down menu
choices and SeeYou form allows hand entry?)
The *.igc file is downloaded to OLC and I get the following
error message, 'Flight could not be scored. Please
review flight claim, which will open in your browser
for details.'
I hit the 'Show Error' button and am directed to the
OLC-NEWS page, in german. Not flight claim is displayed.

Damn.

It should automatically find your takeoff location. It is possible that
OLC is rejecting your claim because you are not using the OLC code for
Minden.

Because you aren't supposed to enter the location in SeeYou -- the
software finds it automatically. What version of SeeYou are you using?

My memory is vague, but doesn't this automatically popup on the screen?
By hitting the "Show Error" button you may be shortcircuiting the
process. The OLC server can be slow, so why not try again and not hit
the "Show Error" button, and see what shows up on your screen.

Problem has been solved. Thanks to your help. I had
SeeYou v3.1. After updating to v3.5 everything worked.

Thank you, all!
