Nice pix, Jay!

I take it the temperatures in Arizona have abated to something less
than "blast furnace", judging by the attire as seen in the photos?

Sigh...nice pix...and once again Jay, I now want to go out and drop a
partial AMU on a digital SLR. One of these days...

Hehe...I'll leave JayB to do the official temperature PIREP. Some of
the nicest times I've been to the Phoenix area have been in December.
Cool but by no means cold (compared to what I'm used to).

Look into Konica-Minolta. They are about the skinniest around, 3x optical, near
instant startup, and do movies of infinite length, if memory allows. Get an
extra battery and a 12V-110V quick charger.

They are so small, you can carry it everywhere, and durable, too. Under .3 AMU
if you shop around.

I was there yesterday as well. The temps were in the high 80's. Very nice day, although a little windy. The
show was very good. As Jay's pictures show, there was a great collection of airplanes on display - from
the old restored classics to the new LSA's and homebuilts. It's no Oshkosh by any means, but strangely,
it was nice to be able to see everything in a day and not have that overwhelmed feeling of missing
something!

You can get excellent quality out of the newest crop of P&S style cameras.
Sensor sizes even in P&S styles have cracked the 10Mp range. (That's more
1s and 0s than my dSLR...[maybe it's time for me to upgrade?])

Check out www.dpreview.com Excellent reviews plus brutally honest forum
discussions on all brands and styles.

I have a Canon Elph for a couple of years. 3.5 MP which is enough for
the common photographer. This is not a SLR, but has been very good.
Seconds on extra batteries. I carry two all the time. I have a 512M
compact flash card and a 256 Card. More than enough pictures at the
highest setting.
