HAPI Accessory Case

Does anyone know if HAPI made an accessory case with the starter in the
top position?

I cannot say NO for sure - they may have done in their later days. If
they did, there were damn few of them made. Somewhere in my files I
have both a HAPI catalog and a MOSLER catalog from late in the day of
their respective existences; perhaps some day I'll look for them and
try for a full answer ;-)

Diehl will make a case with the starter wherever you please.

It sounds like you're trying to fit a starter to a Sonerai that already
has a HAPI case....call Steve Bennet at Great Plains and see if that
can be done.

Great Plains has top mount DIEHL accessory cases. Their phone is 402-493-6507

They also have a HAPI to Diehl adapter that lets you adapt a HAPI motor mount to
a Diehl Accessory Case. Give Steve Bennett a call to discuss your situation.
He has been very helpful on my Sonerai project.

Just what I suspected. If you're dealing with a barefuselage, I'd
change it back, me. If the firewall is already done, I still might
since you're going to have to chop a mighty big whole in the firewall
for the starter to fit through.

The plans have the STOCK motor mount position, which works with the
X-Mount or the Diehl. This sketch has the HAPI mount mods:

which apparently is the way your plane is built.
