Default AirPlan Flight Planner Support Page

Although I have decided to stop actively promoting and further
developing my flight planning software product, AirPlan, I have
decided that in order to be fair to all the user's who have purchased
AirPlan in the past that I need to continue to provide database
updates for the software. The database that I am providing, free of
charge, to user's of AirPlan covers the USA and some surrounding
areas. The removal of the DAFIF from the public domain by the NGA
prevents me from being able to provide worldwide coverage as was
originally provided with the software.

I know that there are a number of my users who come to this newsgroup,
and since I can not reach all of my users due to email address
changes, etc. I am posting this information here.

In order to cover the cost of my greatly simplified website, I am
still offering to provide registration codes for the software to
anyone who wants one for $10 The installer for the software can be
downloaded from the site.

http://www.razorsedgesoft.com/airplan.htm is where the database
updates can be found.

Best Regards,

Dean Wilkinson

Can you publish the data file format?

Hi Paul,

The source of the data I am using is readily available. I am using
the USFIF (DAFIF shrunk down to the USA) from the NGA website and
supplementing the private airport data from the FAA's database. The
USFIF is free to download and you can buy the FAA data from the NACO
website for a small amount of money. The coverage is only the USA and
parts of the Caribean, Canada, and Mexico (border areas only).

I have not found a reasonable source of worldwide data since the DAFIF
went away. Have you had any luck?

Not the source file, the files you generate. The idea is that I can
possibly modify my waypoint generator to generate files for your program.

I've been trying to enlist users of my waypoint generator web site
(
http://navaid.com/) to enter updates from their own AIPs. The more data
formats I can generate, the more potential users I can enlist.
