maybe because, although the cognisenti would know that Airbus is an
EU venture, it appears at first glance to primarily be run by the
French. that's the way it comes across in the press, and as we all
know perception is reality.

the second reason is, the frogs are not really well thought of over
here in certain circles, so anything that makes them look bad is
popular.

lastly, making cracks at the cheese eating surrender monkey's expense
gets certain excitable types all wound up and that's always good for
a Usenet laugh.

after all, their wine is over rated and low in alcohol (mostly because
they're pussies and can't hold their liquor). the food is so good that
most everything needs a sauce to cover it up. their women don't shave,
the men don't bathe and they're all ugly. their cheeses are effeminate
at best and are the culinary equivalent of the Balkans, where every
10 miles you have a new type. the cars are the laughing stock of the
automotive world, and you could cross the entire country in a day's
drive, *IF* the car would run that long and no one's on strike.

in short, it's no surprise that the airplane they're building
is a turkey.
