I personally reccomend that anyone disgusted with Bertie send trash to
rec.aviation.piloting and rec.aviation.homebuilt. Gee, how mature of you. Dan, U. S. Air Force, retired |

In article , Tarver Engineering says... Back when the pilot's groups created Bertie to fend of Livingston the Bunyip had a legitimate existance, but today his only purpose is trashing any functioning newsgroup. This might be fun for those pilot's groups, right up until things go right back to the way they were when Ralphie ran a dozen sock puppets. I personally reccomend that anyone disgusted with Bertie send trash to rec.aviation.piloting and rec.aviation.homebuilt. Bertie and Livingston were going after each other in AAS and AAD for years before anyone in the rec.av groups heard of them. Not true. Ralphie infested rec.aviation for ages before AAS was even created (and intended to be his personal sandbox). The earliest appearance I have found by Bertie was May 12, 1998. His fingers were around Ralphie's throat from the very beginning, of course. But from the beginning those flamewars were crossposted to rec.aviation.military and rec.aviation.misc, where Ralphie liked to play the bigshot. His first appearance in rec.aviation.homebuilt was June 28, 1998, as part of the campaign to shun the Basshole. Bertie and Ralphie were joined in their battles in RAH throughout the fall of 1998 by numerous regulars here. Highflyer, Bob U., Tony P., Jerry Springer, and many others engaged in them. And of course Tarver was busy adding his own bit of insanity to the mix. I take some interest in this because from the very beginning I was accused (falsely) of being Bertie. All of the above can be confirmed by a stroll through google. |
