Ah the old Mohave .. spent a few hours riding around in that aeroplane
until the 47's came in. This was a heavy load carrier in Vietnam except
that the sling hard point had a habit of fracturing at bad times. There
was an ammo guy directing one down with a pallet of 105mm rounds at Dong
Ha in 1967 when the grasp let go. The poor guy was directly underneath
the pallet too and was crushed in an instant. He never knew what hit
him. I seem to recall that he had about one week to go before he
rotated back to the World.
