One of the reasons I stopped going to airshows.
Pyrotechnics, jet trucks, and the like. I guess the
promoters need that stuff to bring in the casual
onlookers, but it does nothing for me.

Though I still go to air shows...
I do agree with you...

Give me lots of aircraft flying by...
Give me lots of beautifull aircraft to walk around...
Give me lots of skilled pilots showing off their feats of aerial ballet...

Leave the jet powered trucks and petrol bombs for some other type of show...
But NOT an air show...

Andrew

Might be that that does not suit the Aviation lords among us however the
General Public and the kids love it and if they dont go then No Show so
I will take what I can get when it comes to a great show Lotsa jet noise
and lotsa flying.

The public is what pays for the show, not those of us who are purists and
aficionados of flight. However if I had my preferences the big petrol bombs
and monster jet trucks would be another venue.
But like you I will take what I can get. And if suffering thru bad sound,
and heavy smoke are what are required for me to live my fantasies of
flight... That is how it shall have to be..
