I finally found your book,I stumbled onto a Borders at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood. Lucky for me it was the day the place opened for business and they had your book on the shelf. Great stuff,I am awaiting and hoping there will be a chapter two about the F4 days. Regards, Frank M.Hitlaw; |

I did a race between Barnes and Noble's ability to get a normally stocked book (Wings of Victory) against Amazon delivering Sword and Shield. Amazon won in a walk. Ed, I enjoyed your book a lot (and am glad I was a submariner during the late unpleasantness). One thing struck me: many of your early missions were flown with 2x3000lb bombs. Why was that? That loadout looks 'way suboptimal for the kinds of targets you were pasting. |

Speaking of pilot books, Brian Shul had a booth at the Nellis show this
last week and was selling special editions of his book for $425 dollars. I didn't have the heart to tell him I read it for free at the library :^p Ed Rasimus wrote: On 19 Nov 2003 22:00:06 GMT, (ArtKramr) wrote: Subject: Thanks Ed Rasimus From: Ed Rasimus Date: 11/19/03 1:38 PM Pacific Standard Time Message-id: ujonrvc5j79q7v9f1ombtrga8mi8ijd Nice to know that Borders had it in stock. ![]() Shouldn't have been "hard to find"--Amazon has always listed it. Amazon says immediate shipping. It's twenty bucks, which means that even if you pay shipping you get it cheaper than retail. Better yet, buy one of my books too and you qualify for free shipping ![]() Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...f=nosim/annals Or read more at www.warbirdforum.com/thunder.htm all the best -- Dan Ford email: (put CUB in subject line) see the Warbird's Forum at www.warbirdforum.com and the Piper Cub Forum at www.pipercubforum.com |

Regards, Frank M.Hitlaw; Nice to know that Borders had it in stock. Hope they back-filled! The F-4 story is currently in production and under contract with Smithsonian. We're presently programmed for the Fall '04 catalog, which means availability around Sept. of next year Shouldn't have been "hard to find"--Amazon has always listed it. ================================================== ============================== Ed; I spent most of the last year in Indonesia. If I would have done the Amazon thing postage would have cost about three times the book's price.Plus it is no sure thing that the mail would be delivered,it has a way of disappearing over there. Thanks,Frank; |
