Vickers-Supermarine Spitfire is offered for sale. You have the opportunity to
own one of WW11's most famous fighters. In the 15-years of front-line
service was unequalled by any other Allied fighter Aircraft. All together
20,351 Spitfires were built,no fewer than 50 are flying in the world
today. This Spitfire is not a composite nor a facsimile but is a genuine
factory built aircraft with no equal in New Zealand today, with all original
equipment as fitted by the factory in 1944.This aircraft is not currently
flying.
POA.

The key here is the "not currently flying". Could be anything from a
totally corroded mess out of the jungle or water to something
partially restored. Plan on bringing about $2M American to the
auction to either own a flyable aircraft or spend to get it flying.

There are pictures available on the TradeMe link which was posted in the
first message.

It was also shown on the TV News, it is it seems in very good condition.

Unsure if it has been flying in more recent times or not other than the fact
that right now it is not flying. It was shown with part of the cowling under
the motor off, etc.

If it has been in the jungle or water, then it has been restored very well
to its current condition.

I have seen aircraft that have been hauled out of the jungle and swamps and
they can be a mess but this is not the case.
