Title says it all. I'm playing a flight sim, Falcon4. Recently a new
version was out. In the previous version, F15E can carry up to 8 JSOWs (AGM154a), however in the new version it can carry only 2 JSOWs. Which is correct? It is a big problem to me as an F15E fan. Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. 5 JSOWs max, one each on the left wing pylon, left conformal (center inboard pylon), centerline pylon, right conformal (center inboard pylon), and right pylon. Same thing with JDAMs or WCMDs; only those 5 stations are wired up with the 1760 bus necessary to drop the things. When any of these are carried on a CFT, nothing else can be carried on the rest of that CFT's pylons, BTW, and you can mix types of smart weapons (so can carry 2 JDAMs (my favorite, JSOWs are a pain to use), 2 WCMDs (smart CBU!), and one JSOW (pig with wings). Of course, that's a pretty heavy load - better have a tanker to go along with you... Kirk (too many hours working on the F-15E WST) |

In addition, how about AGM65B/D/G or AGM130? How many these AGMs can be
loaded on a CFT? And can these AGMs be loaded at the centerline pylon?

Kirk your comment about the JSOW being a pig, is that because it is an ugly
glider or a reference to its operation or performance as a weapon? Chuck Wagner "Kirk Stant" wrote in message om... "Tetsuji Rai" wrote in message ws.com... Title says it all. In article m,
"Tetsuji Rai" wrote: In addition, how about AGM65B/D/G or AGM130? How many these AGMs can be loaded on a CFT? Thanks in advance! Ah, a question on my favorite PGM:-). From what I've heard, two AGM-130's a about all a single Eagle carries. Those things are god-auful heavy even if you do have wiring for four on the pylons. You'll need an AXQ-14 or ZSW-1 pod on the center line station to use them. I wonder if time in indian country is as much a consideration as max payload. If your're using AGM-130's you're probably going after very tough targets in very dangerous neighborhoods. Then there's the deconfliction issue as well. -- Dana Miller |

Sow as in pig. Get it? There is a neat JSOW patch that shows a flying pig on it in one of the JSOW briefings I saw. Of course, it is also a really ugly glider, although not as bad as a PW-5 (insider glider pilot joke, that!). As a weapon, well, it's basically 3/4 of a can of CBU. A weapon for special targets, obviously. Kirk |

In addition, how about AGM65B/D/G or AGM130? How many these AGMs can be loaded on a CFT? Thanks in advance! -Tetsuji Rai (an F15E fan) Very little chance of actually seeing AGM-65s on the F-15E, since they can only be carried on the wing pylons, and if the preferred AGM-65G is carried, only one on each station. Since that takes up two of the external fuel tank stations, it't not a very good tradeoff compared to 2 JDAMs or WCMDs on the same stations. But it is an approved and cleared weapon, and might be loaded for a specific target type. It is possible to carry 6 of the AGM-65A, B, D, or H, 3 on each side on LAU-88 triple rail launchers on stations 2 and 8 (the wing pylons). AGM-65Gs are heavier, so only one can be carried on each side on a LAU-117 single-rail launcher. AGM-65 cannot be loaded on the CFTs. AGM-130s (and the similar GBU-15) are also only carried on stations 2 and 8; they cannot be loaded on the CFTs. When these weapons are used, normally an AXQ-14 or ZSW-1 data link pod is carried on the centerline station (station 5). The DLP is needed to control the AGM-130 or GBU-15 after launch. The F-15E is a neat fighter, lots of good systems, excellent radar, pretty good legs, and a two man crew. Too bad we didn't build a lot more of them! Kirk |

I think I have understood it, but I need to confirm. Reading your message and flying an F15E-229 in a simulator (F15E in Falcon4 ![]() set of an old F15E flight manual, which contains info on sidewinders, sparrows, GBU24,10, BLU107, Mk84/82, some CBUs and so on. So I want to ask additional questions. Can AIM120s be loaded on stations 2 and 8? and two of them each? If so, can F15e carry 8 of them at once ?(2 on stations 2,8 each and 2 on bilateral CFTs each) And when you load 5 smart weapons, no missiles can be loaded, right? How many *light* JDAMs (I mean GBU-32,35) can be loaded? and where? How many GBU-22s can be loaded? and where? When you load 2 AGM-130s, can any other bombs or sparrows be loaded on CFTs? I've heard AGM-130 is very heavy and its drag factor is high. I need details for simulator..... Thank you in advance!! -Tetsuji Rai |
