Anhone out there have any experience in replacing the shock cords, the
bungees on a D model Pawnee. The unit is a hydrasorb shock absorber with the bungee cords wrapped around the hydrasorb. Phillip LaBerge Concord, Ga. |

Find somebody with a bungee tool, there are many variations of it. or Here is a link to how a couple of other Georgia guys do it. http://www.supercub.org/phpBB2/viewt...=172617#172617 and a comment by them in the same thread about the hydrosorb. http://www.supercub.org/phpBB2/viewt...=172831#172831 there are a lot of other threads in the SuperCub forum on bungee replacement tips. |

If you are running on three bungees and are not flying near max all up
weight (not crop spaying) then its worth considering only using two bungees (approved in England). In England we only glider tow with Pawnees. At light weights the shock units mostly never open so all the landing load/bumps are transferred direct to the airframe through the closed shock unit. Its also easier only putting two bungees on. The UK mod. also reduces the max. permitted all-up weight so reduces
landing fees at some airfields and some regulatory costs. I believe there is a US STC for reducing the number of bungees.
We have a "D" model, and the maint shop takes care of swapping them out. B "Alan Garside" wrote in message ...
