I had a great time trying a few winch launches with Don at Immokalee Airport
(KIMM) today. Honest 2000' launches. If you have never tried a winch launch, you have missed a great thrill in soaring. He will be there a few more weeks and still has gaps in his schedule. Don't let them go to waste! http://www.crosscountrysoaring.com/florida.htm Vaughn (A guy who hopes this will turn into an annual event) , |

Myers) thru the end of February. This is a great opportunity to get winch qualified, while your family enjoys the local beach scene (it's 80 here today!!!). Don is offering a $600 package deal for winch qualifying a glider pilot. Included is up to 20 winch launches, use of his Grob & instruction. A BFR is included at no addition charge. For those of you who just want to get some winter flying in, the Everglades Soaring Club is offering special weekly memberships for $100 / week. This includes unlimited use of the club's L-13 and 1-26 (you need to pay for tows). Note: If you are winch qualified, you can use the club's gliders with Don's winch. See http://www.evergladessoaring.traditions.com/ for more info. -- Mike Schumann |
