Hello,
Dingo a écrit : Found this photo lurking in a HDD, but no related info. Any of you chaps know what this was all about ? Well... I believe that this F2H from the Coral Sea landed on this other carrier by error (fouled up)... Sailors don't want to assume the fact that the pilot is from the Navy, pretending that navigation errors are only due to Air Force pilots. They send the "parcel" back via mail to VF-62 aboard the USS Coral Sea ![]() (If not completely true, the idea is there) TIA ~~ Dingo -- D520 Delta Reflex : http://bdd.deltareflex.com Light aviation : http://tagazous.free.fr Roundels of the World : http://cocardes.monde.online.fr/v2html/en/accueil.html |

The Navy has a tradition of defacing aircraft which land on the wrong
carrier. That is probably what happened here. On Sun, 28 Oct 2012 17:21:59 -0000, "Dingo" wrote: Found this photo lurking in a HDD, but no related info. Any of you chaps know what this was all about ? TIA ~~ Dingo |
