Clarion County (KAXQ) in western Pennsylvania has a comissioned
AWOS-3 that transmits on 118.275. However there is no METAR report available for the field. Is there any particular reason why this is so? It seems a waste to have a functional weather reporting device that can't contribute its information the national weather system. |

KFCI is the same way. Maybe the 9600 baud connection is too expensive to
set up. "Jeff Saylor" wrote in message ... Clarion County (KAXQ) in western Pennsylvania has a comissioned AWOS-3 that transmits on 118.275. However there is no METAR report available for the field. You can look up its direct phone number in the Airport/Facility Directory. Or a handy phone number is ANYAWOS (877-269-2967) which will connect you to any AWOS phone number in the U.S. -------------------- Richard Kaplan, CFII www.flyimc.com |

Since they already have (inbound) phone service for the AWOS, I wonder why they don't have the capability for it to dial out once an hour or so and send a quick report to the national weather system. |
