Default BMapper runtime error 75?

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to a Win7 64 bit laptop, and I'm having some trouble with Dale Kramer's wonderful BMapper program. When I try to download Dr.. Jack data for a site, I get a few of the data points, and then BMapper crashes with a 'Run-time error 75 - Path/file access error"

Has anyone else seen this and/or have a fix for the problem?

TIA,

Frank (TA)

No problems on my Win7 64 bit system.

Where in the file system did you install the SW? Could it be that you've installed to a protected location in your directory structure? Mine is installed in the default C:\BMapper folder and works fine. If you forced the install to C:\Program Files (x86) it's probably a permissions issue.

Nice thought, but it's installed in C:\BMapper, just as it was on my XP system.

Another longshot - you might try going to Microsoft and downloading the latest visual C runtime library. I've seen instances where old libraries will still allow the .exe to run but throw very strange errors.

Try right-clicking the .exe file and select "Run as Administrator".

Brad,

Good idea, but it didn't work :-(. Interestingly, it appears that BMapper will get one or even several of the Dr. Jack files before the error appears.. I've seen it get six or seven, or just one or two. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Is it possible I have a Dr. Jack problem instead of a BMapper problem?
