So, from reading the instructions, I need to get an updated license file
via my dealer before I try this? I already have a V1C-XC.lic file on my thumb drive. Matt |

So, where do I find this license file? It's not on my thumb drive and,
if it lives on the vario, the update will delete it. Can I get it off the CNv or do I have to wait until Monday and ask Gary to send me a copy? I have the update and the current versions in sub-folders on my thumb drive and I moved copies of the appropriate update files to the root. Guess I'll delete the copies from the root and fly with the old firmware today. Bummer... You need a license on the USB drive ONLY if it is a 1st time installation of CNvXC. If you already have the XC feature set enabled, you do not need a license when you upgrade. [I needed the license on my own personal CNv, but this was because I was testing software using a different license. When I booted up in the public beta it came up CNv Club, I installed the correct license and was good to go.. What I'm saying is that I had a reason, but not an excuse :-)]. Our bootloader / updater is pretty robust and I have yet to hear of anyone "bricking" a CNv. The updater *can* hang in the update process (this is rare). I think we've had one instance where an update with two connected diplays failed to finish and both displays were blank. In this case, the best way to resolve the problem is to connect only one display, re-run the update. When the update finishes, connect the second display and run the update again. PS: I think the rest of the r.a.s community would prefer we do customer support on our own board. http://clearnav.net/simplemachinesforum/ Best, Evan Ludeman for CNi |
