El Paso Club in Mexico

Currently, the El Paso Soaring Society operates from West Texas Airport,
just southeast of El Paso, Texas. The future of the airport is uncertain,
and we are starting to consider new homes. One of the options is to operate
south of the Rio Grande. The Chihuahuan desert and surrounding mountain
peaks would make for phenomenal year-round soaring, including vario-pegging
thermals in the summer, strong ridge soaring in the spring, and weak but
frequent waves during the winter.

We have many more questions than answers right now, but it is creating some
good conversations over the postflight beer-drinking debriefs!
