I don't suppose there is any chance that the campgrounds at Oshkosh are
covered by a WiFi hotspot? I see that there is some sort of "Internet Cafe" in Aeroshell Square, but I once got banned from the "Internet Cafe" at Sun n Fun because the idiot manning the area saw me using telnet to telnet into my home computer to read my email with mutt, and thought I was hacking into their computer or something. At least I think that's what he thought - he wouldn't actually say what he thought I was doing. So needless to say I'd be a lot happier if I can use my own laptop to read my email and upload my photos. -- Paul Tomblin http://xcski.com/blogs/pt/ Science is like sex: sometimes something useful comes out, but that's not why we're doing it. -- Richard Feynman |

Now, Paul, you'll probably accuse me of being a Luddite, but it just seems to me to be a travesty of the highest order to contemplate sitting in the Mecca of all aviation -- Oshkosh -- surfing the internet. I mean, heck -- I use the internet for EVERYTHING -- but if I am ever tempted to surf while in OSH, I want someone to shoot me. ;-) To answer your question, I've not heard of such a thing...yet. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

The last time I was there, I spent roughly 12 hours a day walking around taking pictures. At the end of each day, I couldn't move and had to ice down my knees and gulp down every pain killer I could risk without losing my medical (ibuprophen, tylenol and alieve) in order to have a hope in hell of managing the next day. Is it really such a travesty of life that I want to spend some of that non-moving time catching up with my friends and family instead of just reading brochures? -- Paul Tomblin http://xcski.com/blogs/pt/ Sept 25th: Discovered lots of things about Dynamic HTML. I've got some leftover Vicodin from my 2003 surgery. At Oshkosh I take one pill at 9am and I'm good to go for the day. Once in a while I'll pop a 3 pm pill. Works GREAT. My feet don't hurt all day. Oshkosh and a big antique tractor show are the only times in the year that I pop my vicodins. I've got a pretty healthy supply yet. I'll be very sad when they're finally all gone :-( Montblack "I can quit whenever I want to" |
