What I love about this funky illustration from 1960 Mechanix
Illustrated is the carefree look on the passenger's faces even though they are pulling like 2 gees as their escape pod drogues away from the burning aircraft. http://glikglik.blogspot.com/2005/03/escape-pods.html |

Moving further in the funky illustrations, I like the "Planetron"
subway between L.A. and N.Y. Perhaps the bullet train folks here in California should resurrect it for their proposals, with a modest scaling-down to fit between L.A. and S.F. |
