Would removing the rear half of an ASK-21's canopy not solve the contagion problem and still provide a reasonable enough L/D? Pilots could use Aviation Headsets for communication.
Half joking, but why would this not work for local flights? |

Having flown a PIK-20 with one undercarriage door missing, or a Dart 17R with the centre fairing accidentally fallen off, I agree the effect is worse than you hope (especially the Dart) |

I'd expect that it would be a better L/D than the ASK-13 flying with two sport canopies. A friend lost the unlatched rear canopy of a PW-6. It shattered on the vertical stabilizer. He said that he was picking up shards of plexiglass from the airfield for weeks. |

I'd think that would depend on which pilot was infectious (I could be wrong, but being behind the infected one doesn't seem be a good place to be. At first guess flying dual in a T.21 would be safer, but I wouldn't count on it: not much room between the pilots even if you both have your own aero-screen. Maybe Burt's K.13 with the sports canopy on would be as good as it gets. -- Martin | martin at Gregorie | gregorie dot org |

![]() Maybe Burt's K.13 with the sports canopy on would be as good as it gets. Be sure that both pilots have a sufficient supply of toilet paper, as that seems to have some bearing on behavior. Don't want to run low and have to resort to ammunition supplies. Bad behavior! |
