I know the parts issue has been beaten to death..PMA,tso ect.
But, I need a battery relay. In the piper parts catalog they list the piper number. In parenthesis, they list the manufacturers number. In this case a 6041H105 relay. This relay is not even built to a MIL spec, never mind a PMA.I think it was built for tractors.... But ,If I purchase it through Eaton or their distributor, I can get it at half price 150.00 ,(with an eaton Certificate of Conformance) compared to pipers price of 300.00.I am Legal in the eyes of the FAA? thanks Joe |

If it's truly the identical part, with the identical part number, and your A&P installs it (and signs your log), you're gold. I'd buy the part, hand it to my A&P, let him check the part number against the Piper microfiche, and leave it at that. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

What's wrong with it? If the contactor is operating, the usual
problem is that the main bolts are loose. You can fix by loosening all the nuts and re-tightening the stack from the bottom. They get loose as the bakelite shrinks. Bill Hale A&P |
