Yes. It is a 25 question test on glider-specific topics. Get the ASA
CFI test prep book to study for it, since the Gleim book excludes glider questions. Michael |

the questions can be found on Gliems web page, but you have to grab them one
at a time. BT "Michael" wrote in message oups.com... Yes. It is a 25 question test on glider-specific topics. Get the ASA CFI test prep book to study for it, since the Gleim book excludes glider questions. Michael |

By far the most important thing to know as
a CFI converting to CFIG is why we douse solo pilots with water instead of cutting the shirttail off. Well, the shirttail thing comes from days of old when the biplane engines sprayed lots of oil on the windscreen. When the instructor got out, he'd surreptitiously take the rag used to wipe the windscreen and goggles off. So the new solo pilot would have to rip up his shirt to use it to wipe stuff off. In soaring, the equivalent is swiping the guy's water bottle. After about 15 minutes in a thermal, the guy is thirsty, and hearing the CFIGs words ringing in his ears, he forces himself to land. The CFIG then gives him 'more water than he can drink.' P.S. I might be making some of this up, but it sounded good, right? P.S.S. If you solo a guy in a motorglider, get his shirttail AND douse 'em.
