Powerfin Propellers fails to honor warranty
I really had a bad experience with them and their CEO Stuart Gort. My propellers litterally were falling a part at the edges with the composite stuff falling out. They offer a 100 percent, 90 day satisfaction guarantee right on their site. So, when I ship my props back, they say, "sorry, you had prop strike". Hogwash. They never struck anything. Even their dealer Larry Hinton out of Tucson said the props were defective. Gort pretended not to know who is dealer was. His own deal who sold me the propellers even said the propellers were defective. Adding insult to injury, Powerfin refused to ship my propellers back to me, asking for over $200 to fix them. Well, these propellers are defective in the first place and I am not paying them anything. I now am back to using Warps, which I love. Their 90 day satisfaction guarantee is a joke and they way they handle customers is even worse. |

They now have their product back and are refusing to even return it to you. You should have no problem getting 100% of your money back via the charge back process. Contact your credit card issuing bank. The number should be on the back of your card. If you did not make a major purchase like this on credit card, then let this serve as a harsh reminder to do so in the future. Sometimes, when the charge back process is started, merchants become surprisingly helpful. Ask your dealer if he would be willing to put something in writing before you start the charge back process. Likewise, see if you can get something in writing stating why the company thinks you have had a prop strike. One last note, Amex is well known for siding with their card holders...not to mention they provide their own buyer's protection program too. Hint, hint...if you can afford to pay the note at the end of the month, Amex is more than willing to stand beside you if you get into trouble with merchants. Greg P.S. I formally worked in the credit card industry doing transaction processing. |
