Why wouldn't one simply transport a "spare" in the cargo hold?

I wonder if the cargo area has the structural strength to carry a heavy
engine. Actual cargo planes have stronger floors, I"d bet the floor of the cargo area of a pax plane is pretty wimpy for weight. -Robert |

One has to be able to get the engine into the cargo hold of a passenger
jet before worrying about whether the floor can hold the weight. "Robert M. Gary" wrote in message oups.com... I wonder if the cargo area has the structural strength to carry a heavy engine.
