We're looking to replace 4 taper pins for an LP-49. If I measured
right, they are an AN386-9-28A and we need 4. Aircraft Spruce says they do not have them. Alternatively, we need Jack Laister's phone no. Can anyone help on this? Thanks. Fred |

I'm going to guess that they're the main wing pins at the center section, and you're just going to cut off the threaded portion at the tip. You may be able to get them from a mil-spec hardware house; ACS is not the only game in town. You also may be able to have them custom made at a machine shop or grinding shop. Also, sometimes I find that the AN386 I need isn't available, but a longer one of the same tip diameter is. I just buy the longer pin, chuck it in the lathe, and cut or grind off the unneeded portion. Alternatively, we need Jack Laister's phone no. Unfortunately, Jack passed away a few months ago, so that's likely to do much good. Thanks, and best regards to all Bob K. http://www.hpaircraft.com |
