Does anyone have a citation to the FARs that defines what constitutes a
Powered Glider (vs. a conventional powered aircraft)? -- Mike Schumann -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

My understanding is that a powered glider is a glider. There is no
separate Category for gliders with powerplants. "Self launch" is a launch method, like aerotow and ground launch. There are rules regarding launch methods, but no separate definition of powered gliders. -Pat |

Thanks.
I hate it when they put regulations in "advisory" circulars. -Pat |
