Has this happened to anyone else? In Atsugi, Japan, there is a large
incinerator just outside the base. Because the environmental controls aren't as strict as other places, it would put out a lot of smoke at times. We were approaching in an H-3 from Yokosuka and told the field was IFR. The visibility was unlimited except about a 100 yard wide plume of smoke centered on the tower. Rob |

I was very proud of my pilots for not saying the things to the tower over the radio, that they were saying about them in the aircraft. Rob |
