No reply at all in 24hr on r.a.owning, so I'll try he
Anyone else have their Garmin 430 screen flash or blink white on them periodically. Noticable mostly at nite. Local hanger flying expert says it is well known and easy fix by any avionics shop. Anyone go through such a fix and know what's done? I flew with an 8 yo 430 install which had a continuous milk white bright screen, and later the owner got an internal battery replaced in an afternoon. Could that be the same? I want to be a bit informed before calling the avionics shop. |

Never had that happen to me while in flight. However, after the WAAS upgrade, it does flash white during the boot-up process before the initial screen. Marco |

I've heard of (and seen) that, although I thought it only affected
WAAS units, and possibly only after a firmware upgrade. If it's the same issue, go to the AUX page, Display, adjust the contrast lvl down to 90, and see if it still happens. If that doesn't fix it I'd call the shop. todd. Thanks, I'll give that a try. It is a WAAS upgraded unit. I'm new to the
plane, but the other partner who went thru the upgrade thinks he saw it before the mod. "tjd" wrote ...
