I can't seem to find how to use the terrain view in Google Earth. What
I want to do is get the same view that is available on the OLC website, but cannot seem to find out how to enable that in Google Earth! Any ideas or suggestions? I've read the help file and gone online for help but to no avail. TIA, Brad |

When I first got it it would automatically activate Google Earth. Now I get a message stating: 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.' 'Check OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Google Earth.msi' in box below.' I work around this by having GE already open before opening IGC Flight Replay. After GE appears on this application all you have to do is click on 'File' in the upper left hand corner, then click on "open IGC File' and browse for the file you want to view. Anyone have a solution to this problem? |

Mario, Brad is asking about something different. There are three ways to see 'terrain' in Google Maps/earth that I know of: 1. The regular GE tiltable images, with a lot of detail/clutter. 2. Import a USGS or similar topo into GE. 3. The grey very low feature terrain that is available in OLC and in google maps. Brad is trying for the grey very low feature terrain, but he wants it in GE, which as far as I know is not available. Too bad, cause it is a really nice level of detail to have for some things. Brian Brian, Exactly! I wanted to get a good terrain view of Twisp and the surrounding mountains. I can get there by opening up an OLC flight that was recently made near that area, but would be nice to get there in a more straight forward manner. Thanks, Brad |

This will do it: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Put in Twisp, WA in the Search box and select Terrain, ......and off you go. Heinz |
