Mostly the delay in getting them up was discovering that for the entire time, I had two spots of dirt on the CCD element in the camera, and so I had to cut and paste over them on every single picture. These pictures were taken at 6 megapixel resolution, so you might want to stick to "normal" instead of "full" resolution, unless you have a really big screen. -- Paul Tomblin , not speaking for anybody Microsoft - Just say No. |

Anyone asking to see pix of the Hughes Air Racer MUST see Paul's picture of it on the first page, upper right hand corner. What a stunning photo of the sky/prop/reflection in the wing, Paul! It really captures that beautiful (if short-lived) plane... -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

It's a 35mm SLR. I suppose it got dirty when somebody was changing lenses. There is a setting on the menu to open up the shutter and mirrors so you can get at it for cleaning. -- Paul Tomblin , not speaking for anybody Once we've got the bugs ironed out, we'll be running on flat bugs |

I didn't notice any obvious defects in the pictures. The spots must be very tiny, right? Something like Photoshop ought to be able to clean that kind of problem up automatically. If you look at the unedited pictures at http://xcski.com/gallery/osh_prelim and compare them with the edited ones at http://xcski.com/gallery/oshkosh2003 you should be able to see the spots. For instance, look at http://xcski.com/gallery/osh_prelim/CW5H0357 down by the wing root and on the wing. Compare with http://xcski.com/gallery/osh_prop_wa...inium_overcast Truth be told, I don't have Photoshop (I don't use pirated software unless it's from Microsoft) and I've never really gotten my head around Gimp, so the only tool I had was Graphic Converter. -- Paul Tomblin , not speaking for anybody "There is always a way." -- Rick Grant (quoting RCAF pilot training) |
