Oshkosh pictures finally up

Mostly the delay in getting them up was discovering that for the entire
time, I had two spots of dirt on the CCD element in the camera, and so I
had to cut and paste over them on every single picture.

These pictures were taken at 6 megapixel resolution, so you might want to
stick to "normal" instead of "full" resolution, unless you have a really
big screen.

What a stunning photo of the sky/prop/reflection in the wing, Paul! It
really captures that beautiful (if short-lived) plane...

How do you get dirt on the CCD itself?

It's a 35mm SLR. I suppose it got dirty when somebody was changing
lenses. There is a setting on the menu to open up the shutter and mirrors
so you can get at it for cleaning.

So, what was the "copy and paste" operation of which you spoke? I didn't
notice any obvious defects in the pictures. The spots must be very tiny,
right? Something like Photoshop ought to be able to clean that kind of
problem up automatically.

If you look at the unedited pictures at

you should be able to see the spots.

Truth be told, I don't have Photoshop (I don't use pirated software unless
it's from Microsoft) and I've never really gotten my head around Gimp, so
the only tool I had was Graphic Converter.
