Hey, Pig, I visited the Sun'n Fun website yesterday and the backpack
prohibition has not been rescinded as Whizzmire promised. As for _Bleak
House,_ your reading is YAAAAAWN. Try _Chuzzlewit._ You're in it.

Have you ever considered building an aircraft? The exercise might make you
less obstreperous.

FWIW I have raised the issue with said publisher. If ever there was a
case for constructive engagement, this is it.

A legitimate case for constructive engagement
usually has some chance seeing the light.

" And that rule about
ice chests and backpacks, that's so you'll not be bringing in your beer at
$5 a sixpack from the supermarket down the street.

Last summer, when the WACS was at Lakeland, they didn't search any
backpacks, camera bags, or purses. I worked the ticket booth a couple
of days and people were surprised that no one was looking for pocket
knives or weapons of mass destruction hidden in a camera.

MacDill Air Force Base is having a air show this weekend. The 2002
and 2003 shows were cancelled for security reasons. Rule one is no
coolers. Rule two is no weapons, including pocket knives. They don't
allow rollerblades, etc. Backpacks, bags, purses and camera bags are
allowed and searched.

A B-2 flew over the house on its way to MacDill this afternoon
(altitude - about 800 feet). Wow, what a plane.

Hi Betsy,

Son John, and I attended the last few days of the WACS
rooting for our underdawg American lady fliers...
especially newcomer, Vicki Cruse.
She did good. However....

Damn those Russian babes.
They can even outfly most of our men.
And some are a little bit prettier than our men, too. g

What a trippin' trip.

Say 'hi' to hubby for me.

If anybody doesn't know who "jls1016ns" may be, the reversion to
juvenile (and really stretched) insults based on combining a name with a
body function gives it away. Even if the completely undeserved
vituperation didn't. Latchless Larry, c'mon down, and we'll pray that
you might be healed. Or saved. Or take up golf.

Just googled Larry Smith, then jls. Some 37,000 posts between them.
Wonder what the total number of posts from all his aliases is? Could
be a record....... for the longest White Lightning build time. :-)

All I know is they told me I could bring it and it'd probably be
subject to search. I'd be carrying lots of camera equipment and they
OK'd it. That does not mean I'm saying they rescinded the ban or what
it'd take to be able to carry one.

I'd certainly take the letter with me though.

Please advise your Newsgroups that we have revised the backpack policy.
We are allowing backpacks... but they may be subject to search at the
gate.

Very good. So I'll just fly in with an ice chest hidden under a quilt in
the baggage compartment and keep it filled with beer (by the case) on my
back in an oversize mulepack. Does that sound OK to you? After all,
those big diesel converted Greyhound Bus rigs are going to be loaded down
with gourmet beer too, ain't they? Plus wet bar stocked with single malt,
Creme de Menthe, Courvoisier, and Tennessee sippin' whisky. And ladies of
the night and little white and just groomed French poodles. Now how do I
get a ride to the nearest ice service store or 7-11?

Missus Vaughn, if you see 2 shifty unkempt characters there they should be
searched for crack pipes, hashish and bongs. You can be sure they have a
30-gallon ice chest full of Cobra quarts hidden out in the bushes. Behind
their '79 Seville and that big round and ratty camo tent. Not to tattle but
that would be Packie and WBMJRK.

If you're talking about the campgrounds, coolers, stoves, backpacks, steamer
trunks, and anything else is fine there. The only thing specifically
prohibited (other than by state or local ordinance) is firearms.
