Did anyone see the webcast of the Red Bull Air Race in Budapest this
afternoon? I saw the blurb in the AOPA Friday email and decided to take a look. All I can say is WOW....WOW.....WOW. It's a darn shame that, for a variety of reasons, that we will never see anything quite like this in the U.S. These guys were flying a slalom course over the Danube River with the start and finish line going under a bridge. Absolutely astounding. I don't feel like much of a pilot after watching that. Rich Russell |

Yeah! Please put that up on your site, Jay! Actually, I've already got video on our site of some loon flying under a bridge... But if we can find video of an air race using the bridge for a finish line -- well, that certainly trumps the loon, now doesn't it? ;-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Rich Russell They are an interesting bunch of people there, although these guys went over the bridges instead of underneath them, it still must have been a spectacular sight as well. Following pictures were taken at an event in Budapest to celebrate their joining the EU. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/570821/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/572102/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/572101/L/ Best regards, Peter |

I don't recall his name, but he's a Hungarian national hero. They mentioned in the commentary that he previously flew under the bridge inverted. Rich Russell |

Anyone got some video? Check out this website. Have to have a fast connection. On my computer, for some reason, I have to click to full screen button to get a picture, then I can hit escape to go backto the default window size which looks better. There are a number of video files on the right side of the page. The highlight video is the worst (too artistic and doesn't give a good sense of what kind of flying is actually going on). Look at the Winners Run and the qualifying videos. http://www.redbullairrace.com/ Rich Russell |

http://www.redbullairrace.com/ What a crappy web site. Won't even let me in the front door running Mozilla. (Even 'though I am sure I could view the content just fine if they would only let me see it...) Anyone have a mirror of the videos, or perhaps could provide a URL to them on the redbullairrace site so I can view them on my computer? Thanks!
