Good hints at www.sarc.com and removal tools for many patterns, if you can identify them. Quickest removal tool is Hijackthis, if you know what you're doing. Requires some registry modifications. Some Windows versions require disabling restore and administrator rights. Safe mode is recommended. I've noticed a few website content management systems that have clearly been cracked and various Trojan packages have been inserted. One content management system is used by several universities and I've had a few clients infected as a result from different servers using this system since last November. Frank Whiteley |
