Ideal Glider Hangar Dimensions

We are looking to add a hangar to the airport and wordered what others have
figured out for the "optimum" length/width/height (door clearance) for a
hangar that would hold a combination of 15m and 17m gliders (6 or more).
Trying to find options that minimizes total cost, so door type and width
also plays a role in the solution. We are at 45 degrees N latitude so 90mph
and 40 pound snow load is involved.

The "Carousel" hangar at Moriarty, NM is an interesting idea. It had 8 15 -
20 meter ships in it almost as soon as it was finished. The glider owners
love it.

Combine the "carousel" idea with the Monolithic Dome hangar and you have a
neat solution that will survive hurricanes and heavy snow loads.

My minimum recommendation would be 60'x80'.......seems like a really nice
cost per ft size for glider hangar.......when you make your final decisions,
whatever size you decide on.....you will look at later and say to yourself
"if we'd just made it _____ bigger......"
