I just can't locate the correct size of Allen wrench that fits the OBS knob
retaining screws on my KI214 & KI201 indicators. Would a member of the group enlighten me. Thanks, -- Roy N5804F - PA28-181 |

It probably isn't an allen wrench. It is likely to be a spline wrench. You
can find them he http://www.mcmaster.com/ Mike MU-2 "Roy Page" wrote in message ink.net... I just can't locate the correct size of Allen wrench that fits the OBS knob retaining screws on my KI214 & KI201 indicators. Would a member of the group enlighten me. Thanks, -- Roy N5804F - PA28-181 |

Well thanks Mike, you learn something every day, I'm an engineer as well and
never even heard of them.l I looked at McMaster Carr and found them OK. Next step is to find size and whether 4 or 6 flutes. -- Roy N5804F - PA28-181 "Mike Rapoport" wrote in message ink.net... Don't know about little airplanes, but on many of the larger ones the
knobs fasten with a .050" allen. That size is not commonly available in those bags of allen wrenches you get at the hardware store. |

It's not an allen, it's a spline. I had to go through about twenty little
wrenches before I found one that fit. Jim "Don Hammer" wrote in message ... Don't know about little airplanes, but on many of the larger ones the knobs fasten with a .050" allen. That size is not commonly available in those bags of allen wrenches you get at the hardware store. |

Thanks Jim,
I just bought a set of very small spline keys and hoping that one will fit. Seems I may be in good shape when they arrive. Thanks, -- Roy N5804F - PA28-181 "RST Engineering" wrote in message ...
