It is time to start planning for the Pinckneyville Flyin.
When: May 20, 21, and 22. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Whe Pinckneyville Airport ( PJY ) It is about 80 miles southeast of St. Louis and is on the St. Louis sectional. Who: Anyone who likes airplanes enough to put up with a bunch of internet people either flying with their friends or talking about flying for three days! What: Annual gettogether of rec.aviation and others who are into things that fly. Antiques, homebuilts, ultralights, spam cans, and even some RC models! Three days of fun and festivities based on flying. Mary cooks up a storm so we get well fed. How: Fly in, drive in, bicycle, walk, or any other way you can get there. Accomodations: Camping on the field is free. Two bathrooms but no showers. Motel: Mainstreet Inn in Pinckneyville, IL. 618-357-2128. Reserve now, it fills up fast sometimes. B&B: Oxbow B&B in Pinckneyville, IL. 618-357-9839. Ditto. Transportation to and from motels is usually no problem. Food: We generally have something to eat available on the field. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We ask a small donation for the groceries. Usually $20 per person. That also includes beer and/or soda. Coffee available all day. :-) Registration: No charge, but please email Mary at so that she knows how many groceries to order. We usually need more than we can just pick up at the local store. :-) John Ousterhout has put a Pinckneyville Flyin FAQ on the web for those of you who have not experienced one. You may access it at http://www.ousterhout.net/pjy-faq.html We will see if that ups your traffic count John! Highflyer Highflight Aviation Services Pinckneyville Airport ( PJY ) |
