![]() "Jay Honeck" wrote in message ups.com... I'm a bit surprised that no one has brought up the horrible terrorist attacks on London. More importantly, I'm a bit worried that we haven't heard from any of our British pilot friends on this group, like Paul Sengupta, Steven Atherton, Chris Blythe, John Forster, and a host of others. You guys okay? Our thoughts are with you and your countrymen... we just get on with things. I had the inconvenience of having to walk a couple of times on Thursday that's all. I suppose we are used to things like this having had the nonsense with the Irish before then. Its not the end of the world and you have to be really unlucky to be hurt or injured. Chris |

London has pretty much just picked itself up and gotten on with it.

Jay,
Thought you might be interested in one response from a British friend: http://www.lnreview.co.uk/news/005167.php Seems the British have a certain disdain for those with little minds who feel that murdering innocents is appropriate behavior. I find myself agreeing with the writer. BTW, you going to be parking in your usual location at OSH? I'll be in the same row as the last several years. Hope to see you. Warmest regards, Rick |

That's just about what this guy says. Life Goes On http://www.trendmacro.com/a/luskin/2...1luskinSMC.asp "London knows as well as any city in the world what it's like to live with the threat of terror. From 1981 to 1996, the Irish Republican Army carried out a series of bombings in public places in London ranging from small pubs to huge office buildings. Separately, government officials were murdered, kidnapped and beaten. I remember doing business in London during those years. I remember the police checkpoints along the roads leading into The City — London's equivalent of Wall Street — where cars were routinely searched for explosives. It slowed things down, but life went on." Salute to them all! -- Matt --------------------- Matthew W. Barrow Site-Fill Homes, LLC. Montrose, CO |

Thanks for the link. Terrorists are the ultimate scoundrels.
BTW, you going to be parking in your usual location at OSH? I'll be in the same row as the last several years. Hope to see you. Same here. If you've figured out how to reserve a specific campsite in the North 40, please be sure to let me know how it's done! Each year we've been parked in wildly different locations, even though we always try to arrive the day before the convention begins. Last year was the ultimate spot -- right next to the clear zone at the end of Rwy 27 -- and I'd give almost anything to get it again! You gonna be around for the rec.aviation party at our campsite on Wednesday night? It should be a great chance to put some faces with some names -- last year we had around 40 people show up for food and drink! -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Thanks, Jay, and you're welcome. I hope it was some help at least. I see
Chris has come up since this morning, so at least that's one accounted for you were concerned about. Shawn "Jay Honeck" wrote in message news:b19Ae.153252$xm3.9424@attbi_s21... The link is to a photo taken at about 16.15Z. Today is National Commemoration Day celebrating 60 years since the end of WW2. There are a few hundred thousand people who packed the Mall for a flypast by WW2 planes, including Catalina, DC-3s B25, B17 and of course a Spitfire, Hurricane and a Lancaster bomber. Best sound in the world is the Merlin engine. All these people were not going to have the day spoilt by what happened on Wednesday.
