I have a wingtip float for a WW2 vought OS2U Kingfisher floatplane.
I'd like to hear everyone's off the cuff opinion of what it should sell for. I want to sell it for something at least in the ball park of its value and not essentially give it away. Its major flaw is that a large section of the top metal was removed, back in the 1950s, to convert it into a kid's swingset swing. Just quick value estimates posted here are fine. Thanks for the help. |

Wow, I thought they worth more.
I found a website Australia showing the parts collected to restore a pair of Kingfishers and at least two of the three wingtip floats they have have the same postwar cutouts in the tops. The Kingfisher at the USS Alabama museum had to be restored with a Grumman Albatross' floats, the correct ones are so rare. It may not be worth it to part with. I may just have a hinged top made and use it as a coffin for when I kick off. wrote in message .com... certayn lee wrote: Just quick value estimates posted here are fine. Thanks for the help. IF it were complete and unaltered, then you would be talking about a couple of grand. As it is, maybe a couple of hundred bucks on the outside to a Kingfisher lover. Craig C. |
