I'm looking for recommendations on lodging options for Wednesday the
26th to the Sunday the 30th of July for Oshkosh. This will be my 6th Oshkosh so I'm very familiar with the show, but with family in the region, we have always flown into Madison and commuted (by car unfortunately) from there daily, so I know nothing about local lodging. Since I'm now owner of a warbird, I figure I can more easily get mid-week parking on the field, but this means figuring out lodging nearby. I'll be calling the convention bureau on Monday to see what is available as far as dorms, etc... but I figured I'd get the collective wisdom of the group first. What are the options as far as ground transportation to various places to stay? I know there are shuttles to the university dorms, but I'm not sure about anywhere else. Before anyone suggests it, camping is probably not an option (not nearly enough space in the plane for the stuff). I know I'm late in booking this but I didn't know I was going to be an aircraft owner last Summer when it was the right time to be looking for 2006 lodging. Thanks in advance for any help. I would imagine that rooms of any sort are hard to come by, especially for just part of the week. Thanks, Eric 1959 Pilatus P-3 http://www.hometown.aol.com/bartscher/index.html |

Call EAA membership 800-number and ask for the name and information for the AirVenture Warbird Flightline Coordinator/Head Honcho. |
