The Columbus DISPATCH has an article saying that Bush will be in Dublin
(northwest side of Columbus) for a speech at WENDY'S INTERNATIONAL
(Wendy's hamburghers) at 12:15 on Wednesday, Feburuary 15.
Wendy's headquarters is one mile northwest of KOSU, The Ohio State
University Airport-Don Scott Field.
Bush will will either land at Rickenbacker (KLCK) or Port Columbus
(KCMH). In any event, a 30 nm radius TFR will effectively shut down
every airport in Central Ohio (Franklin, Delaware, Knox, Licking,
Fairfield, Pickaway, Madison, Union Counties (and a five others that I
cannot remember the names of).
Considering that Franklin County alone has 600 registered aircraft and
several hundred pilots, and that Central Ohio is the home of several
national/international companies with large aviation departments, this
is going to cause some headaches (just as it does everywhere else).

Someone needs to take the interference with interstate commerce tact sometime. These TFRs do absolutely nothing to
protect the president, or anyone else for that matter....

Presidential version of the $100 hamburger.

Don't forget Bolton, and all the private strips.

Yeah, I work out near Port Columbus, I swear every time he visits town, he
leaves at rush hour and 670 is shut down in both directions for an hour.
What a PITA.

he has to show somehow that he is (believes to be) the most important
person on this planet.
he threatens us with a visit, too. I hope that we here can raise some
protests against his visit. we can't affort the negative economical impact
of such a "visit".

We reject Gilmore’s right to travel argument because the Constitution does
not guarantee the right to travel by any particular form of transportation.

Years ago, a radio personality by the name of Bruce Williams, who's
also a private pilot, pushed the idea of building a special, secure,
convention / meeting center in DC or VA and flying everyone who was to
meet with a president to the center.

right. or meet in a submarine.

He did the math and surmised that it would actually be cheaper to
bring everyone there, then to shut down major cities and airports. I
seem to remember him mentioning the idea every few years, and really
pushing it after Clinton's alleged LAX-closing haircut.

well, it is your president, you have to deal with him (whoever you have
voted as your 4-year-god), but he is not our prez, so we can (hopefully)
chose who visits us.

He apparently has written the plan up and sent it to every president
and his other elected representatives for the last 30 years or so,
without even an acknowledgement of receipt.

*hehe*

The plan made sense to me...

so it will never become reality.
if it makes sense there is no way a politician will pick up the idea.

So he gets in trouble from people whom he vists.....
Not long after he gets in trouble from those he didn't visit.

A special DC convention center for POTUS visits? I can just see that:
" He's got a presidential throne. We have to make a pilgrimmage now?"

Good thing I'm in no danger of being president.

That is pretty much what Lyndon Johnson did. He had his chair placed higher
than visitors so he could look down on them and they had to look up at him.

I still like this old one:
