Default Request for Germany driving information.

I am posting for a US pilot that has found out at sort of a late date
that he will compete at the world contest in Sweden. He would
appreciate any information in regards to renting a suitable tow vehicle
in Germany near or at the Frankfurt airport to collect a glider at
Poppenhousen and the best route for the drive North to Eskilstuna,
Sweden.
Thanks Chuck

Hello
Try this link
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/e...2ffi=&2ex=&2n=
You can insert any two addresses, and get a map and driving
instruktions. I used Mapquest last year when I visited Florida, and it
was a great help.

I would not rely on MapQuest for driving routes in Germany.
Best Regards, Dave

PS: I did get to see a lot more interesting scenery than planned
when I used MapQuest last fall...

For driving instructions
http://www.falk.de/routenplaner/controller_rp.jsp
should be working. As to where to rent a towing vehicle ... neither Sixt,
Budget nor Europcar seem to have cars with a towing hook. Best email them
directly and ask. All of them have stations at the airport.

Greetings, Erik.

for driving instructions I can recommend
www.viamichelin.com
I made very good experience with viamichelin in Spain, France, Germany,
Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The instructions were always highly
accurate.

The big car renting companies (Hertz, Avis and the like) don't rent cars
with tow hook. Most probably some small local company will do so, but to
find such a company is somewhat tricky from overseas. As he is using a
Glider from AS in Poppenhausen, maybe his best bet is to call them and
ask them for help.
