If I remember correctly (a rare event) they let you in to the grounds
after 5 PM with the next day's wrist band. Is that correct? I'm arriving late on Tue. Cheap person I am, I'd like to save a bit. I see from the forum schedule that they're running them until 8 PM. I'll be missing the Beach Boys though. Bert Rutan's talking on Tue. night, so that'll be good to hear unless it's the same info as last year looking for people to work out in the desert with him. It sounds like interesting work, but not much of an outside life. |

Paul
Talked to the Airventure Office. You have to have the wrist band for that day of admission. No other days pass wrist band. Gates are manned 24 hours. The whole airport has security guards all night. http://www.airventure.org/2006/planning/admission.html Larry Fitzgerald www.fitzair.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Paul Dow (Remove Caps in mail address) wrote: If I remember correctly (a rare event) they let you in to the grounds after 5 PM with the next day's wrist band. Thanks for the reply Larry.
I guess I should have just done that myself. I could go through the museum for a few hours on my arrival day. Tuesday night is also dollar beer night up at the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball game in Appleton. Paul wrote: Paul Talked to the Airventure Office. We came in late last year, bought bands for the following day, and the folks down at the red barn said yea, sure, come on in...don't recall exactly what time it was... |

Last year my wife only came to the show with me for a few days. For one of
those days she put on the wrong day's wristband, and we didn't realize it until almost the end of the day. We'd gone through numerous gates throughout the day and no one questioned it. Maybe it was because she was with me and I had a full week pass wristband on, but who knows? I'd suggest the OP buy the wristband for the next day, and try getting in when he arrives the day before. The worst that could happen is that they'll stop you and you'll have to buy another band. Scott Wilson On 23-Jun-2006, wrote: Paul Talked to the Airventure Office. Everything from providing porta-potties, to keeping the grass cut, to putting on evening entertainment. At $21/day, it is a real bargain and the admission price typically doesn't represent a big portion of the trip's cost. Why short-change the event that is the focus of your trip? Most of us probably wouldn't try and sneak off without paying for gas in our car or airplane, and if you boil it down, paying for admission to the show isn't any different. KB |

Point taken Kyle. I'm not trying to rip off EAA, but don't you think
some reduced admission after 5 PM is appropriate? After all, most every exhibit area will be already closed. Vendors will have shut down, except for EAA souvenirs. The air show will have concluded, and very few seminars are still available. I'm sure they'll still charge the $6 for parking too. My wife and I have been selling flightline passes for about 17 years at Gate
E-17,that's the campground gate behind Theater in the Woods. The policy in the past has been to allow people in after about 7pm to go to TITW programs with the next days pass. I don't know what the policy is now, or if things will change cuz the Beach Boys are playing. Tom ....
